FC 27 The Grounds - Tips and Tricks Guide

FC 27 The Grounds Tips and Tricks Guide

The best FC 27 The Grounds tips and tricks start with forgetting one assumption: scoring goals is not always the objective. The Grounds combines traditional Clubs competition, Street Football and unusual Kickabouts inside a shared football world, and each activity rewards a different kind of player.

If you are just arriving in The Grounds, these tips will help you improve your Pro, earn useful rewards and adapt to the small sided games without turning every session into a grind.

Read the Rules Before Entering the Queue

Every Kickabout pitch has an information board explaining how that activity works and how points are awarded. Read it.

It sounds obvious, but The Grounds deliberately changes the objective from one activity to another. Team Keep Away rewards possession, Goal Control rewards owning multiple goals, The Big Race tests dribbling through a course, and Scenarios can demand a very specific type of finish.

Knowing the win condition before kickoff gives you an immediate advantage over anyone who simply chases the ball.

Do Not Aim Street Football Shots Like Assisted Shots

Small sided Street Football uses manual shooting assistance. Your aim therefore matters when you press the shoot button.

Take an extra fraction of a second to point the Left Stick toward the part of the goal you actually want to hit. On a small pitch, a simple accurate finish is usually more useful than attempting an elaborate shot with poor direction.

Play Differently in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3

The formats may look similar, but they create very different problems. In 1v1 Street Football you have a CPU goalkeeper behind your outfield Pro, so forcing an opponent into a poor angle has real value.

The 2v2 and 3v3 versions use smaller goals without goalkeeper Pros. Losing possession can therefore turn into a goal extremely quickly. Do not drag every player toward the ball and leave an opponent completely free near your own goal.

Use Controlled Sprint in Tight Spaces

Holding full sprint everywhere is one of the easiest ways to make your Pro feel clumsy. R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox gives you controlled sprint, which is particularly useful when you want speed without pushing the ball as far away from your feet.

Save full sprint for genuinely open space. On compact Street Football pitches and obstacle based activities, control is often more valuable than maximum pace.

In Team Keep Away, Stop Looking for a Goal

Team Keep Away rewards possession rather than goals. Your team earns points while controlling the ball, and passing chains can increase your multiplier.

Move into space immediately after releasing a pass and give the player in possession a safe option. First time passing is valuable, while unnecessary dribbles give defenders more time to close you down.

Fouling is particularly painful because it carries a points penalty. A desperate tackle can undo the value of several good passes.

Protect the Ball in The Big Race

The Big Race is not simply a sprint. You need to finish an obstacle course while keeping control of your ball, which means raw pace can work against you.

Ease off sprint before narrow gates, moving obstacles and awkward turns. Accelerate again when the route opens. A player who stays in control can easily recover the time lost by slowing down for a difficult section.

Play the Score in Goal Control

Goal Control rewards territory. Once you score in a goal, you own it and accumulate points from that control until your opponent takes it away.

Do not repeatedly attack a goal you already control just because it is convenient. Look for an unclaimed target or steal one your opponent owns. When you are ahead, forcing the other player to travel farther between valuable goals can be more useful than chasing them around the pitch.

Read the Scenario Before Attacking

Scenarios can require a first time shot, a passing sequence, an aerial finish, a wall assisted goal or another condition. A normal goal that ignores the instruction does not necessarily help you.

Read the current objective as soon as the round begins, then build the attack around it. This is one activity where taking a second to think can be quicker than immediately charging toward goal.

Choose an Archetype for How You Actually Play

All available Archetypes give you different ways to shape your Pro, so choose one that suits the role you enjoy rather than copying a build designed for somebody else's position.

A player who spends most of a match creating chances has different priorities from a defender or direct scorer. The useful part is that you can experiment with your setup rather than treating your first choice as permanent.

Earn Archetype XP While Exploring Different Activities

You do not have to live in 11v11 matches to progress. Playing activities around The Grounds can earn Archetype XP and Grounds Coins, and some games contribute to Grounds Objectives as well.

That makes Kickabouts useful when you want a shorter session or are waiting for clubmates. Check your Objectives before choosing an activity and you may be able to make progress on several things during the same session.

Do Not Waste Amps on Kickabouts

Amps do not apply during Kickabouts. More importantly, playing a Kickabout does not consume the remaining match duration or durability of an equipped Amp.

That means you can jump into these activities without worrying that you are burning through an Amp for no benefit. Check the activity information whenever you are uncertain about whether an effect applies.

Use the Map Instead of Wandering Aimlessly

The Grounds is divided around a central Plaza and the Montclair, Zeiza and Parkside districts. Open the map when you have a particular activity or objective in mind rather than relying on memory.

The map can help you locate gameplay activities, objectives and places where players are gathering. If a queue is quiet, look for busier areas instead of waiting indefinitely beside an empty pitch.

Know Where Clubs Modes Actually Live

The Clubhouse provides access to Clubs League and Playoff matches, Club Live Event Tournaments and its related features. Not every competitive mode starts there, however.

Ranked Rush and 11v11 Drop In have their own access points within The Grounds. Learning where each entrance is located saves you from repeatedly searching the Clubhouse for a mode that is accessed somewhere else.

Use Kickabouts to Practise Real FC Skills

The strange rules are not just distractions. Team Keep Away teaches quick passing and movement. The Big Race forces you to improve close dribbling. Scenarios encourage different types of finishing, while small sided football exposes poor defensive positioning immediately.

Treat each activity as a short practice session with an actual objective. You can improve useful FC habits while still earning progression for your Pro.

Watch a Match Before Joining

One of the smartest things you can do in an unfamiliar activity costs nothing. Stand beside the pitch and watch the current players for a minute.

You can see where points come from, which routes work and what mistakes people keep making. Then enter the queue with an idea of what you want to do rather than learning every rule while the clock is already running.

Small Sided Football Rewards Simple Decisions

Three minute matches do not give you much time to recover from repeated mistakes. Move the ball when a teammate has space, defend the dangerous route to goal and use skill moves because they solve a problem, not because you know the input.

The Grounds is deliberately playful, but its best players still understand the simplest football principle: know what the current game rewards and make your next touch serve that objective.

How to Earn Grounds Coins

Grounds Coins in FC 27 are earned simply by playing across The Grounds, whether you are competing on the streets or in stadium matches. You can also earn additional Coins by completing Grounds Objectives, including objectives offered through Mentors. Limited time experiences such as Club Tournaments and Playoffs can offer greater rewards, so they are worth checking when available.

Before starting a session, open the World Map and check your active Objectives. Try to combine several requirements with matches or Kickabouts you already planned to play. Grounds Coins can be spent on items such as Amps, Consumables and Street appearance content, while resetting an Archetype build does not cost Grounds Coins. This means you can experiment with your build without wasting the currency you have earned.
