Mycopunk is a cooperative first person shooter where movement, weapon upgrades and teamwork are just as important as aiming. Between the strange fungal enemies, heavy weapons and specialist gadgets, there are quite a few controls to remember.
This Mycopunk controls guide covers movement, shooting, weapon selection, utilities and team commands. It also explains how to find your bindings if you are playing with a keyboard and mouse or using a different controller layout.
Mycopunk Controls for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Controllers
The PlayStation assignments below come from the game's Bindings screen. Xbox buttons are their standard controller equivalents. The PC column includes familiar movement and shooting inputs, while actions without a verified keyboard assignment are marked for checking in Settings.

|---|---|---|---|
| Move | W, A, S, D | Left Stick | Left Stick |

| Cargo Pod | Check Bindings | D Pad Left | D Pad Left |
| Detonate | Check Bindings | D Pad Up | D Pad Up |
| Turbocharge | Check Bindings | R3 | Right Stick Click |
Some actions share a button. For example, Square is assigned to both Reload and Interact, while R3 appears for both Melee and Turbocharge. Their behaviour depends on the current gameplay context.
Weapon 1 and Weapon 2 are both shown as Triangle in the supplied PlayStation bindings. This is not a transcription error.
Movement: Sprint, Slide and Jump
Mycopunk rewards players who keep moving. Sprint helps you cover open ground, while sliding can help you reposition during a fight or maintain momentum through a dangerous area.
On PlayStation, click the Left Stick to sprint, press Circle to slide and Cross to jump. The Xbox equivalents are Left Stick Click, B and A.
Practise combining these movements in a safe area. Being able to slide away from incoming attacks without losing track of your target is more useful than standing still and trying to absorb damage.
How to Shoot, Aim and Reload
R2 fires your equipped weapon on PlayStation, while L2 is used to aim. On Xbox controllers, use RT to fire and LT to aim.
Press Square on PlayStation or X on Xbox to reload. The same button can also handle interactions, so pay attention to what is happening around your character.
Reload when you have breathing room rather than waiting until an enemy is directly in front of you. Mycopunk's fights can become crowded quickly, and running out of ammunition at the wrong moment can leave you exposed.
Weapon Switching and Heavy Weapons
The Bindings menu lists Weapon 1 and Weapon 2 separately, but both are assigned to Triangle on the PlayStation layout shown. On Xbox, the corresponding button is Y.
Heavy Weapon is assigned to D Pad Right. Keep this input in mind when your regular weapon is not enough for a tougher encounter.
Mycopunk also lets you modify weapons using upgrades. The way you build a weapon can change how effectively it handles crowds, individual targets and different combat situations.
Utilities, Throwables and Special Actions
Your utility equipment and throwables provide options beyond ordinary gunfire. On PlayStation, L1 is assigned to Throw and R1 to Utility. On Xbox, these become LB and RB.
The game also lists Detonate and Turbocharge as separate actions. In the PlayStation bindings shown, Detonate uses D Pad Up and Turbocharge uses R3.
These actions may only be relevant when the corresponding equipment or ability is available. If a button seems to do nothing, check what you have equipped before assuming the control is broken.
Ping, Quip and Cargo Pod Controls
Communication matters in Mycopunk, particularly when several players are dealing with enemies from different directions.
The Ping command is assigned to D Pad Up, allowing you to draw teammates' attention to something important. Quip uses D Pad Down, while Cargo Pod uses D Pad Left.
Learn the Ping button early. It is a quick way to communicate during a fight without needing to stop moving or type a message.
How to Check or Change Mycopunk Key Bindings
Open Settings and select Bindings to review the available actions. The menu also includes separate Gameplay, Controls, Sound and Graphics sections.
If you play on PC, use the keyboard and mouse bindings displayed in your installed version rather than relying on another player's custom layout. The same advice applies if you have changed controller buttons.
