Minecraft uses a flexible controller layout for mining, building, crafting, combat, flying, inventory management, and social features. The controls below follow the default PlayStation-style layout shown in the settings menu, with Xbox equivalents added beside it.

Additional Notes
Minecraft controls can be remapped from the Wireless Controller menu. Some actions, such as Pick Block and Identify Block, may be unbound by default depending on the platform, version, or control preset.
- R2 / RT is used for mining blocks and attacking mobs.
- L2 / LT places blocks, uses items, opens containers, eats food, and interacts with many objects.
- X / A is used for jumping and flying upward in Creative Mode.
- Circle / B is used for sneaking and flying downward.
- L1 / LB and R1 / RB cycle through hotbar items quickly.
- Controls can differ slightly between Bedrock, Java, console, mobile, and custom controller setups.
