FC 27 Players Most Likely to Receive Rating Upgrades

FC 27 players expected to receive rating upgrades

Player-rating upgrades are always among the most discussed parts of a new EA SPORTS FC release. Breakout youngsters can jump several overall points, established stars may move closer to the elite tier, and previously underrated players can receive important improvements to individual attributes, PlayStyles, positions, skill moves, or weak-foot ratings.

This FC 27 watchlist highlights players whose development and performances make them especially interesting heading into the new game. It is important to remember that upgrade predictions are not official ratings. EA evaluates players through its own data, scouting network, balancing decisions, and database deadlines, so the final numbers may differ from community expectations.

FC 27 Rating Upgrade Candidates at a Glance

Player Position Why They Are Worth Watching Possible Upgrade Areas
Ousmane Dembélé ST / CAM / RW His increased goal threat, creativity and ability to influence matches from several attacking positions strengthen his case for elite status. Shooting, positioning, composure and attacking PlayStyles
Mohamed Salah RM / RW Salah remains one of football's most productive wide forwards and continues to combine goalscoring with chance creation. Passing, finishing, vision and composure
Lamine Yamal RM / RW His rapid development, one-on-one ability and growing creative responsibility make him one of the clearest young-player upgrade candidates. Dribbling, passing, crossing, reactions and composure
Raphinha LM / LW Greater consistency and end product could produce improvements beyond pace, particularly in his shooting and creative attributes. Finishing, positioning, passing and stamina
Florian Wirtz CAM / CM / ST Wirtz has developed into a complete attacking midfielder capable of creating, carrying the ball and scoring. Vision, short passing, dribbling, reactions and composure
Pedri CM / CDM / CAM His press resistance, positional intelligence and control of midfield make him a candidate for stronger all-round attributes. Passing, defensive awareness, stamina and reactions
Vitinha CM / CDM / CAM Vitinha's ability to control tempo, progress possession and operate under pressure has elevated his reputation among elite midfielders. Ball control, vision, long passing, positioning and composure
Jude Bellingham CAM / CM Bellingham's combination of physical presence, technical quality, goalscoring and defensive contribution keeps him among the game's most complete midfielders. Shooting, positioning, dribbling and defensive awareness
Alexander Isak ST His movement, close control and composed finishing make him a strong candidate to enter a higher striker tier. Finishing, positioning, ball control and composure
Willian Pacho CB Pacho's speed, strength and ability to defend large spaces make him one of the most interesting emerging center-backs. Defensive awareness, interceptions, strength and reactions

Ousmane Dembélé

Ousmane Dembélé has always possessed elite pace, dribbling and two-footed attacking ability. The biggest question surrounding his ratings was traditionally whether his final product matched his talent. As his influence in central areas and around the penalty box has grown, the argument for stronger shooting, positioning and composure has become much more convincing.

His positional versatility is also important. Dembélé can operate from either wing, as an attacking midfielder or closer to goal. In FC 27, improvements to finishing and attacking intelligence could make him considerably more effective than a simple pace-focused winger.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah remains a model of sustained attacking output. Even when his raw pace changes with age, his movement, finishing, decision-making and creativity continue to justify an elite rating.

Salah's most meaningful FC 27 improvements may not come through speed. Passing, vision, composure, crossing and chance creation could better reflect how complete his game has become. His trademark left-footed finishing also makes him a natural candidate for strong shooting-related PlayStyles.

Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal is one of the most obvious players to watch. Young footballers can improve dramatically between annual releases, and Yamal's technical development has been unusually rapid.

His dribbling and agility are already central to his game, but his passing, crossing, vision, reactions and composure may be equally important in FC 27. He is not merely a quick winger: he can attract defenders, create overloads, deliver the final pass and produce decisive actions from difficult positions.

Raphinha

Raphinha is another wide attacker whose value extends beyond pace. His pressing effort, off-ball movement, shooting and delivery can make him dangerous both in transition and against organized defenses.

A rating upgrade could focus on finishing, positioning, passing, stamina and composure. Those improvements would create a more accurate representation of a winger who contributes as a scorer, creator and energetic defender from the front.

Florian Wirtz

Florian Wirtz combines creativity with unusually intelligent movement between the lines. He can receive under pressure, turn into space, combine with forwards and contribute goals himself.

His FC 27 profile should reward more than technical dribbling. Vision, passing, reactions, positioning and composure are all essential to the way he influences matches. Positional flexibility at CAM, CM or in a supporting attacking role would also increase his value across multiple game modes.

Pedri

Pedri is often judged through qualities that are difficult to summarize with goals and assists. His scanning, awareness, body orientation and ability to escape pressure help his team control matches.

Passing and dribbling remain obvious strengths, but upgrades to reactions, stamina, interceptions and defensive awareness could make his card more complete. Those attributes would better represent his ability to contribute during possession, pressing and defensive transitions.

Vitinha

Vitinha has developed into a highly influential controller. He helps dictate tempo, moves intelligently to receive the ball and progresses possession through passing or close control.

His potential upgrade case is built around consistency and responsibility. Higher vision, long passing, short passing, composure and positioning would make him a more authentic midfield organizer. He may also benefit from PlayStyles connected to press resistance and combination passing.

Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham already belongs among the highest-rated young midfielders, so any overall increase may be relatively small. However, individual attribute changes could still make a significant difference.

His late runs, ball carrying, physical duels and defensive work make him effective across several midfield roles. Improvements to positioning, finishing, dribbling, reactions or defensive awareness would strengthen his identity as a genuine box-to-box and attacking midfield hybrid.

Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak offers a rare combination of height, mobility, technique and composure. He can run behind a defensive line, receive to feet and create shooting opportunities through close control.

His finishing, positioning and ball control should be central to any FC 27 upgrade. A stronger weak-foot rating or additional finishing PlayStyles could also have a major effect on how he performs in Ultimate Team, even without a dramatic rise in overall rating.

Willian Pacho

Willian Pacho represents the type of defender who can become particularly valuable in FC gameplay. He combines physical strength with enough speed to defend transitions and cover space behind an advanced defensive line.

Potential improvements to defensive awareness, interceptions, reactions and strength could make him a highly attractive center-back. His left-footed profile also provides useful squad-building balance and suits teams that build possession from defense.

Why Overall Rating Is Only Part of the Story

A player does not need a large overall upgrade to become significantly better in FC 27. Individual attributes often matter more than the number displayed on the card. A striker receiving better finishing and composure, a midfielder gaining stamina and defensive awareness, or a defender receiving improved acceleration can feel dramatically different in gameplay.

Changes to PlayStyles, PlayStyle+, skill moves, weak foot, alternate positions, body type and acceleration profile can also affect a player's usefulness. For Ultimate Team players, these details may determine whether a card is merely highly rated or genuinely effective in competitive matches.

Young Players Usually Have the Most Room to Grow

Established superstars often sit close to their realistic rating ceiling. Even after another excellent season, they may receive only a one-point increase or adjustments to selected attributes. Younger players have much more room to move because the game must reflect rapid technical, tactical and physical development.

This is why players such as Lamine Yamal and Willian Pacho may experience more noticeable changes than an already elite star. Their ratings must catch up with newly established roles and a larger body of senior-level performances.

Career Mode Players to Monitor

Rating upgrades affect more than Ultimate Team. In Career Mode, a higher starting overall can make a player immediately useful, while increased potential determines how far that player may develop over several seasons.

Young talents with versatile positions are especially valuable because they can cover multiple roles and adapt as a squad evolves. However, a major real-world breakthrough can also increase transfer value and wages, so upgraded wonderkids may be considerably more expensive than they were in the previous game.

What Could Prevent an Upgrade?

A strong period of form does not automatically guarantee a higher rating. Injuries, limited appearances, inconsistent performances, positional changes and the timing of EA's rating cutoff can all affect the final database.

EA may also improve certain attributes without increasing the overall rating. In other cases, a player's overall can rise while some attributes remain unchanged because the calculation weights statistics differently for each position.

Official Ratings vs. Community Predictions

All rating-upgrade discussions should be treated as predictions until EA officially confirms the FC 27 database. FIFPlay profiles are useful for viewing player information and tracking the FC 27 database, but listings can be updated as new information becomes available.

For the most reliable comparison, check each player's final FC 27 profile after the official ratings reveal and compare the overall rating, individual attributes, positions, PlayStyles, skill moves and weak foot with the previous edition.

FC 27 should include meaningful improvements for a mixture of established stars, rapidly developing youngsters and players whose in-game attributes have not fully reflected their real-world influence. Lamine Yamal is an obvious candidate for a substantial rise, while players such as Dembélé, Raphinha, Vitinha, Isak and Pacho could benefit from upgrades that make their cards feel more complete. Salah, Bellingham, Pedri and Wirtz may already be highly rated, but carefully chosen attribute and PlayStyle changes could still make them noticeably stronger. Until the final database is confirmed, the smartest approach is to treat every prediction as a watchlist—not a guarantee.
